It was a rocky weekend for the Bobcats who can no longer sit back and enjoy the view atop the Big Sky, not with all the company joining them in a tie for first.

Saturday's loss in Flagstaff saw the shaky Cats defense fall prey to the same lapses they had experienced in recent games to Portland and Sacramento State, however this time, the Cats offense couldn't bail them out. The historically stout Cats defense now finds itself ranked 91st in the country in total defense. While stats like that can be misleading, the coaches plan to address the defensive struggles, while, for the players, it's a matter of pride to restore their side of the football.

"We'll make some changes. We already got some in the works to try and get some more zero yardage and negative yardages plays, which will put our opponents in long yardage situations which will be more difficult to convert. That's gotta be our plan," Head Coach Rob Ash said.

"I mean, it's definitely a pride issue. I feel like we're a way better defense than that. Statistics may not show, but I don't know, we definitely need to get going, but we got the players to do it," defensive lineman Caleb Schreibeis said.
